LGBTQ access project, a federal demonstration project, is enrolling human and youth services agencies in King County: http://www.demonstrateaccess.org/
The LGBTQ Access Project invites King County-based agencies to join in a one-year initiative. Up to 15 organizations will participate in the 2013 LGBTQ Access Initiative. Participating organizations will work together and with field experts to adopt promising practices aimed at increasing LGBTQ access across the continuum of support services.
Access sites will:
- Complete an Organizational Self-Assessment to identify organizational gaps and priorities;
- Participate in two agency-wide surveys of staff and volunteers;
- Participate in a two-day LGBTQ Access Project Summit on June 13 & 14, 2013;
- Propose, adopt, and document at least one recommended change to policy or practice to increase LGBTQ access in 2013.
